Gun Milan or Guna Milap in Kundali Matching

The tradition of matching of Janam Kundalis of two individuals before they set themselves ready, to get tied in a marital relationship is probably as old as the history of marriage. More than a tradition, Kundali matching has grown up to become a prerequisite condition before one chooses to get married. Kundali matching derives a sense of satisfaction among the people who are going to get into a relationship, as well as those associated with them regarding the good future of the probable relationship. This trend has been more on a rebellion way among Indians, much because of their view of the Western world, where more than half of the relationships ends in separation. Also marriage is considered to be a lifetime relationship, in which words like separation or divorce or even conflict are not considered to be good. Therefore, extreme efforts are made on the very first place to ensure that the probable relationship turns out to be a pleasant and stable one for both the people involved in it.

Kundali matching is done by matching of the Janam Kundalis of two individuals. More intensely, Gunas (or intrinsic attributes) of two individuals are matched with each other. This is called as Guna Milap or Gun Milan Milan. These attributes are more like the representations which contribute to the success or failure of any relationship (including marriage). The high one scores on the Guna Milap scale, the better are the chances of settling up a good relationship between two persons, and vice versa.
